Today I want to share with you a simple but tasty recipe that highlights the goodness of organic wholemeal pasta, which you can find in the “Pastificio Garofalo” and “Pastificio Armando” catalogues, and the freshness of the tomato, which you can find in the “Polpa di tomato“.
This classic dish is a great option for those who want to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal at the same time.
Organic wholemeal pasta is a nutritious choice that offers us the benefits of fiber and essential nutrients, while also maintaining a slightly rustic flavor. The tomato sauce, with its fresh and genuine flavors, goes perfectly with wholemeal pasta, creating a simple but irresistible combination of flavours.
Here’s what you need for this recipe:
• 250 g of wholemeal pasta;
• 400 g of tomato sauce;
• 1 onion, finely chopped;
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced;
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil;
• 1 teaspoon of sugar (optional, to balance the acidity of the tomato); • Salt and pepper; • Fresh basil for garnish (optional).
Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the wholemeal penne rigate from the Garofalo pasta factory and cook them for 11 minutes, or the wholemeal penne from the Armando pasta factory, cooking them for 11-12 minutes. Drain it and keep it aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and fry until golden and fragrant.
Pour the tomato sauce into the pan and mix well, adding salt and pepper to taste.
Place the cooked pasta in the pan with the tomato sauce and stir gently to combine the flavors.
Now is the time to serve!
Arrange the wholemeal pasta with tomato sauce on plates and garnish with a few fresh basil leaves for a touch of freshness.
The wholemeal pasta lends a slightly rustic texture and nutritious flavor to the dish, while the tomato sauce adds that tart, sweet note we love so much.
